==The Lunch
Line== DID YOU KNOW . Amboy Junior High School utilizes the Lunchbox Point of Sale (POS) program that enables your students to purchase their lunches electronically each day? Lunchbox POS is a debit system similar to a retail establishment that enables students to purchase lunch electronically. The cost of food is deducted from student accounts. Students access their account through the use of their personal ID number. Each student at AJHS was issued a hard-plastic, picture ID that they will be wearing every day. When the student goes through the lunch line, they scan their ID card at the register and their lunch purchases are deducted from their account. Students who receive free or reduced price meals must also scan their cards, but will never be identified as receiving free or reduced meals to any other student. The Lunchbox program is not like a credit card where you make purchases and then pay for them later. Payments for your child's lunches must be sent to the school weekly or monthly. Lunch money is collected on Monday mornings. Lunch money may also be taken to the office on the other days of the week. Deposits need to be made first thing in the morning. Monies received after 10 a.m. may not be posted on the accounts until the next day. Parents having more than one child in the building may send one check to deposit for lunch purchases, but must note clearly how the money is to be divided between children. Students at AJHS may purchase an additional meal or entrée each day if they want to. A free or reduced price meal student may also purchase extra meals, but will pay the full price. If a student's account is starting to run low, the cashier may verbally remind the student. A student may charge a full meal if their account does not have enough funds, but charges must be taken care of as soon as possible. Letters will be sent each week to parents of students whose account has a negative balance. If you receive such a letter, please respond with a deposit promptly. Parents may request a printout of their child's account from the school office. Hopefully, this letter helps everyone understand our Lunchbox program. We are asking parents to please help us by making sure your student's account has money in it for them to purchase lunch each day. Please feel free to call the AJHS office with any questions. |
