What is the YALSA?
Young Adult Library Services Association is a division of The American Library Association, the world’s largest library association with an important mission. It is also the source of a great deal of online information about young adult books, challenged and banned books, and much more. According to the ALA, “YALSA advocates, promotes and strengthens service to young adults, ages 12 through 18, as part of the continuum of total library services.” YALSA also shares resources with the general public through its website, providing them with recent YALSA Award Winners and Booklists.
